British Wheel of Yoga (BWYQ) Teaching Certificate, diploma or follow on courses

New teacher training course due to start April 2024

Please contact Dawn if you are interested in training as a Level 4 Yoga teacher via the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY).  The BWY has been training yoga teachers in the UK for over 50 years.

This will be my sixth teacher training course and you will benefit from my 20+ years as a yoga teacher and student of yoga.  This is not a quick fix/fast track course that will promise you a lot in a short time.  It is a long term commitment and for those who are committed to yoga.

You will not be taught several different styles as you will be empowered to develop your own style and way of teaching whether that is in creating vinyasa flow or a more slow and gentle style.  The intention is to take you deep into your yoga practice so that you have depth to your teaching.

The BWY Teaching Diploma is a 3 year course, you can also opt for the Certificate which is 2 years and covers the first five modules of the diploma.

It is a prerequisite that you have a minimum of 2 years class attendance as it is not a course to teach you yoga, but focuses on how to teach yoga.  You will need to provide a reference from your yoga teacher and attend an introductory day for assessment.

BWY Progression Course - top up your BWY Certificate to Diploma Level 4

If you already have a BWYQ Certificate in Teaching Yoga but are now ready to deepen your practice and complete the diploma then this course is for you.

This course covers additional asana to the certificate course as well as enabling you to teach pranayama, meditation, mudras and bandhas.  It looks more deeply at some of the esoteric practices of yoga and the philosophical background to yoga including a study of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and the Upanishads.

Starting in 2024, please contact Dawn to register your interest.
