Getting Hacked

2 min read

I recently got hacked and lost access to my emails, social media and websites Fortunately I've managed to regain my websites after some hassle from the web provider but my old emails and social media have been lost. It has been an interested experience in the act of letting go. My website was very out of date, I only have one class and run my yoga teacher training with another teacher who is a whiz at marketing so I've not really been using the website as much more than a landing page.

As I gradually try to message friends on Facebook to explain that the friend request I've sent them isn't I realise that I have collected a lot of people over the year that I can't remember who they are or how I know them so perhaps it has been a good opportunity to remove people who I no longer closely interact with.

It has been a very stressful time and I'm grateful for my yoga practice to help keep me calm.

It has made me realise how almost everything we do has a digital footprint, I jokingly said to my partner 'you can't go to the loo these days without an email address'. Everything from utilities to communication with others is so tied into technology.

I hate to think how going through this it would have impacted someone who has a heart condition or was more elderly as my stress levels were high and I'd got things I could do to try and reduce the impact.

I've been updating my website today and hopefully removed lots of information that was no longer relevant or necessary to have on here so it is easier to find my class and teacher training information as well as workshops and courses that I run
