About
To book a place call Dawn on 01476 593912
or
07748 071582 A typical class A class starts with tuning in with the Adi Mantra, followed by pranayama or warm-up, kriya (specific set of exercises which can be simple practices or vigorous exercises), relaxation, meditation and closing mantra. It is recommended that you do not eat a large meal for at least one and a half hours before class. Stimulants (caffeine, alcohol, drugs – unless prescribed by a doctor) should be avoided immediately after class. What to wear and bring to a class Traditionally, loose fitting, white or cream clothes in natural fibres (cotton, linen, wool or silk) are worn as these allow prana (energy) to flow freely. The colour white, contains all the colours of the light spectrum so supports and enhances your chakra (energy centres). It is also usual to cover the head during practice to retain the energy generated within the body and also helps to provide focus at the third eye point (ajna/brow chakra). Often a sheepskin is used to practice yoga on as it provides insulation from the ground however a wool or cotton rug/blanket can also be used. An alternative is to use a regular yoga mat. It is also useful to have a blanket for the relaxation at the end of the class
In 2005, Dawn first experienced the power of Kundalini Yoga at British Wheel of Yoga Congress after attending classes with Guru Ram Kaur. She went on to study with the Sahej Academy as a Kundalini Yoga Teacher and during that time took the spiritual name of Atamjeet. Kundalini is a system of yoga that was brought to the West in 1969 by Yogi Bhajan. It’s focus is to awaken each individual’s potential and expand their consciousness to enable them to achieve personal growth and healing
It uses techniques
which may include a pattern of movements, sound, pranayama, mudras,
concentration and/or meditation to guide the body’s energies to
stimulate a specific result or shift in consciousness and to balance the
subtle system of chakra and meridians within the body. http://www.yogibhajan.com/index.html http://www.3ho-kundalini-yoga.eu/en/about-3ho-europe/
